What is the best website for nice car chrome rims? I have a 2000 mitsubishi mirage and I am shopping for 17" 4 lug chrome rims. If you know of a place that I could search on line for a great deal on car rims, please let me know.

redrambler31 replied: "I bought great wheels from Discount Tires. I bought them a year ago and I love them. Mine are not chrome but they are specialty designer wheels. Check out Discount Tire website. Good luck"

bmwgodfatha replied: "The best place that I have seen is ebaymotors. There are actual dealers and stores that sell there rims for lower prices. Just make your search a little more detailed for your car and they should have wat your looking for. Not many of the rims come with tires though so just go to your local tire or performance shop and ask them what tires you would need. Or check Sears tires cause they have a lifetime warrenty that is great."

J P replied: "Here's just a few. "

Should it be a felony for anyone to put fancy chrome rims on any car made before 1999? I saw someone in a 92' Tahoe with chrome rims. Too bad the car was a rust bucket.

What website can I go to for chrome rims for my car? I would like to find a good deal on a wheel & tire package. I don't know if I want anything too flashy, cuz I am a female and don't want someone trying to steal them. Would 18'' rims be nice but not to showy?

John Skerry replied: "Save your money for college. Rims rust."

andrewdoane replied: "www.tirerack.com is the best site for that. You can even tell it what car you have and it will show you what it would look like with each different set of rims."

keni replied: "www.I-have-more-money-than -sense.com"

Anna Z replied: "Ebay has it all!"

quanmyboo4ever replied: "i dont know girl i need some rims on my car to cuz i have a bmw"

green eyes replied: "oasiswheels.com"

Getting chrome rims painted to match car! Possible? Hi for my bf's bday I want to go with him to get his 20 inch chrome rims painted. The majority of the rim will be painted but the lip will stay chrome. Are there places that will match the paint of the car to put on the rim? If so, how much does it usually run and where can we go to get it done? Please help.

billy_55744 replied: "You can do it yourself for about $30 at a local auto parts store buy the right color which they will help you find and get good primer and paint probably duplicolor is the best. Use masking tape to cover any areas you want to stay chrome."

brooklynguy replied: "chrome rims (or other chrome parts) can not be painted. paint does not stick to chrome. if you want to paint the rims remove the tires first, have them sand blasted tell them you want the lip to stay chrome they will mask off any area you want any qualified body shop can do this as well as matching the color of the car."

tony.tinoco replied: "hell yeah! go to the local maco body or any other body shop, it doesnt go over $100 maco is where i did mine, $75.69"

chip p replied: "you need the wheels sandblasted, to etch the part to be painted, otherwise the paint will flake right off"

The car wash sprayed my chrome rims with some kind of cleaner and now they are stained. What can I do? I thought the rims were polished aluminum, but I looked online and it says they are chrome. Is it more likely that they are aluminum if it had a chemical reaction like that? It doesn't seem to wanna rub off and it looks terrible. Any suggestions?

born west coast replied: "sounds like they used a strong solution, and you most likely have polished aluminum, go to the car wash owner or manager and ask if their detail dept. can make it better."

ken y replied: "Polish them"

mj23themanVW replied: "buffer or go to the car wash and raise hell try to get them to pay for it"

Randy K replied: "Oh no, a lot of commercial cleaners will damage rims, especially if allowed to dry or applied in sunlight. Your best bet would be try a rim cleaner you apply by hand like "mothers" and try and work out the stains."

chavitaboy_1 replied: "If it is chrome, buy chrome polisher and apply it with a sponge, let it dry and then polish it."

My name's MUD replied: "Rub them with baby oil, it will remove stains and make them shine."

ladyd694me replied: "got to hard wear store and try stuff called never dull and use that as a polish and see if it helps"

wildbeagle replied: "I would start with the manager. He will probably see what he can do to correct the problem and if they can not be fixed then he will need to suggest other solutions. Be sure you keep receipts, dates, times, and the people you talk to for documentation. If nothing comes of working with the manager, then ask for the owners number/address. Start writing letters with your documentation, and if they protest write another. I had to do this with a gas station one time where the car wash ripped off my mufflers (very cool low 70' firebird), third letter and they just sent a check. Also find out how much to replace your rims, is it a new car, older, price new then consider depreciation and maybe you can come to a comprimise. Hope this helps. Good luck!"

chevy replied: "T-CUT. brilliant stuff it is used to restore colour back to your car paint work, often used after a paint respay. can get it at most car shops, stores. hardware shops."

PC replied: "Use a chrome polish"

lynn k replied: "go get compensation, then you decide what to do, but let the carwash folk see the damage first. good luck."

midnite31815 replied: "LOOK FOR A POLISH CALLED WIZARDS POLISH.IT IS LIKE NEVER DULL BUT MUCH BETTER.A LITTLE PIECE WILL DO FOUR RIMS"

Chrome rims and car paint in winter? This one's a two-parter: I live in eastern Pennsylvania, so we obviously get snow, but usually never as bad as New England, Wisconsin, etc, so... Is it safe to keep the chrome rims on my car during the winter? If so, is there a certain product I should put on the wheels to protect them? Also, how often should the wheels be cleaned, and should I just use soap and water or is there a really good wheel cleaner out there that can be used often? Also, I found out that my car (which I bought used) has a really expensive aftermarket paint job (its a beautiful shade of white- looks great with the tinted windows!) but now I'm wondering if there's anything I can use to coat the paint to protect it. I love the brightness of the white and I'm afraid that it'll fade or the salt will eat away at it...

Is there a site that will show what certain parts would look like on my car? Like rims, tints, chrome detail?? I have a 2003 cavalier that i am looking to "pimp" lol i have tints on it already and want to get rims and whatever else i see that I think would look cute but I would like to see it first on my car! I seen sites like this for rims only and i don't know where to find out this kinda info - it would be great if it showed inside of car and out! p.s. besides rims, tints. and a stereo what else can i do to make my car look nice on the outside thats not outrageously expensive?!
